National Gymnastic Events

Gymnastic events happen throughout the year for both junior gymnasts and gymnasts older than 16. Some of these events are compulsory should a gymnast want to take part in the Olympics as the results are used to determine who will be placed on the Olympic teams.

Nastia Liukin Cup

Nastia Liukin hosts the Nastia Liukin Cup in the Unites States. This event is held annually in March. It was first held in 2010 in which the partnership between The USA gymnastics and Liukin was formed. Qualified to compete in the Cup are Level 10 female gymnasts only in both the junior and senior fields.

AT&T American Cup

AT&T American Cup

AT&T American Cup, so called due to sponsorship, is an elite senior level gymnastics tournament. This event is also held in the United States and is considered the first major competition of the gymnastics season. It is held in Feb or March of each year. In 2011 the International Federation of Gymnastics (FIG) Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series allowed it to become a part of them. The competitors are determined by FIG rules. The gymnast’s placement is also placed as per the previous World Championships or Olympic Games. There is an international panel of judges.

Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships

Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships takes place in April and hosts Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Trampoline and Rhythmic Gymnastics.
U.S. Classic. The U.S. Classic, officially called the Secret U.S. Classic, is the 32nd edition of the U.S. Classic. This event will assist as an event for qualification for the U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. It is the 2nd event during the USA Gymnastics elite season.

USA Gymnastics National Championships

The USA Gymnastics National Championships is an annual gymnastics to display artistic skills for elite competition in the United States. The Gymnastic governing body organises this event and has been held yearly since 1963. The name of this event is presently titled P&G Gymnastics Championships and this was done after its sponsor Procter & Gamble. The competition had been previously supported by Visa and was named the Visa Championships. Park Ridge, Illinois was the location of the first national championships and it was decided that the event will be held there held each year since.

U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Male Gymnastics and P&G Gymnastics Championships for women’s gymnastics

This was the first time the gymnastic Olympic Trials had taken place in St. Louis. It is also the 3rd time the city has held USA Gymnastics’ national championships. The Competition hosts, the competition for the men’s Olympic Trials and the P&G Championships for the senior and junior ladies. The P&G Championships main purpose is to decide the women who will participate in the women’s trials. It also held determine the national champions and national teams for the junior and senior women. Furthermore, the junior men’s national championship will determine the junior men’s U.S. champions and the national team.
